Stay at Home Mum to Pilates Teacher - Rebecca’s Story
What inspired you to train as a pilates teacher?
I developed a real passion and interest in Pilates after having my daughter and seeing the benefits first hand, I have always had a keen interest in fitness and health, but something really clicked with Pilates. It felt like I was really listening to my body for the first time, I was really drawn to the mind-body connection that the practice fosters
Was there anything in particular that drew you to the course?
I was drawn to Victoria and the Ordinary People Academy, I felt like we would be a good fit and we were. Practically, the fact it was in-person training in Glasgow, and over weekends made it doable for me.
Did you experience any major insights or life lessons during the course? And what was the most valuable thing you took away?
After quite a long stint being a stay at home mum, and during Covid, my confidence and self-esteem were not particularly high when I started the training. The support of Victoria, Jen and the other students really helped raise me up and made me feel like I could do it.
How did the course equip you to get out there and teach real life classes?
Through the practical sessions, & advice. Victoria has so much knowledge and experience to share.
Can you describe what you enjoyed most about training to be a pilates teacher?
Probably The Anatomy and Physiology, I love all that, I’m a bit of a nerd at heart. Also, meeting like-minded, lovely people.
What advice would you give to anyone who is thinking about training as a pilates teacher?
Do it!
